Do you feel like you woke up yesterday and had this weird dream about the Bears playing terrible all game against the Packers, but then somehow miraculously winning in overtime? Was it the coldest game in Bears history? You weren't dreaming! I swear it really happened. Here's a little video proof if you need to be refreshed:

Fittingly The NFC North Will Be Decided By A Bears-Packers Game On The Frozen Tundra Of Soldier Field

There isn't much to say about this game that every real Bears fan doesn't already know. I will be going to the game tomorrow to cheer on my Bears and everyone who isn't going should be watching this game. Even though the Bears are not their traditional good cold weather, run the ball, stifling defensive team of years past, you have to believe that with freezing winds howling in Soldier Field the Bears will have the advantage.

Oh one last thing: Fuck the Packers. Seriously I cannot stand a single player on that team and nothing would make me happier than to have a victory over the Pack be the thing that propels us into the playoffs. Mike McCarthy has worn out his welcome, Aaron Rodgers is overrated (there, I said it, so now it's out there; I'm not sure why everyone won't just come out and admit that), and that vaunted Packers defense we were supposed to see this year has underachieved at best. Don't even get me started about the fans, who seem to think their loyalty lies with a turncoat douchebag that has finally showed his true colors instead of the team that showed that douchebag nothing but respect and love. This team and its fans deserve one last serious spanking before the season is over, and the Bears are the perfect team to do it.

Bears Grab Bag--Fire The Entire Coaching Staff Edition
I don't know how coherent or objective this little Bears analysis will be, but I'm going to go to bullet points here in an effort to break up my giant furious anger into little mini irritated points. Here goes:
- I will do my best to start positive. Matt Forte had 64 yards on 16 carries. That is a solid day. I am assuming those numbers all came in the first half, because I have zero memory of him touching the ball in the second half. I'm not sure what about being down 17-3 at halftime signifies that a team should completely abandon the run, but hell, Ron Turner is the offensive coordinator so he must know what he's doing, right?
- I don't even know where to begin with the defense. I'm going to try to break it down though. First thing: The Packers punted twice. Twice. I am not going to look up the Packers 3rd down conversion numbers because I would probably throw my laptop through the TV if I saw them.
- The pass defense was actually only slightly below average this week. What a world we live in where the Bears pass defense performing at a C- level can be considered a good thing.
- The Packers rushed for exactly 200 yards. If I could punch any 4 people in the face on the entire planet it would probably be the defensive line. (Wait, I'm forgetting the Bears coaching staff, so the d-line would be second I guess).
- I don't want to make excuses for the Neckbeard, but he was clearly not playing at full strength. I respect that he played through the pain, but he looked terrible. His mobility was clearly effected.
- The coaches, oh the coaches. I hate them all.
- It's almost pointless to mention, but who are our wide receivers again? It'd be nice if they showed up.

Today's Links
- L'il Wayne lives with D-Wade? I don't know if I would be trying to wake up to that face, but you never know.
- Chicago is 1 of 18 places Lebron could land in 2010. I like those odds.
- Did you know Chicago has a Female Roller Derby team? Not only that, but they are pretty good too.
- Bulls lost to the Lakers but they put up a good fight well into the 3rd quarter. 1 down, 6 to go.
- I may or may not be able to recap the Bears-Packers game, considering how angry I am. If you want to read a cool shout out to some old school Bears-Packers moments, though, check this out.
- Tyson Chandler gets advice on how to be a good father from Eddy Curry? Talking about those two guys in the same sentence makes my stomach hurt, but this story is funny.
- Former Cubs Cy Young winner Rick Sutcliffe makes a sales pitch to Jake Peavy.
- Top Ten Chicago athletes that could be Bond villains. Moises Alou is no villain!
- Apparently former NBAer David Wesley has returned to undergrad and is serving as the Baylor team manager? Yikes. (Thanks to His Jesusness Shuttlesworth for this link)

Today's Links--Too Many Links in Too Little Space Edition
- Hey, did you see that Bears-Packers game? Boy was that embarassing, right? I mean wow, I'm just glad I'm not a Bears fan right now (shit, I am a Bears fan).
- Hilarious old-time advertisement with Steve Garvey.
- Chief Illiniwek is back! Unfortunately there's not much for him to cheer for this weekend, OSU killed the Illini
's bowl hopes. I don't think the basketball team's second win against a team I've never heard of is going to cheer me up either. - An autographed Derrick Rose game jersey is up for auction along with other NBA rookies and stars jerseys. $100-$350 sounds fair for the jersey of the next Chicago Bull great.
- If you've got the time to read, Gilbert Arenas' blog will make you laugh from start to finish. In his latest post, he discusses his stupid Barack tattoo, his feelings about the election and some other crap that no one wants to hear from Gilbert. Very funny.
- Apparently the Cubs are in the running for signing Randy Johnson to a 1-year deal. It all depends on what happens with the Peavy deal I guess.
- Remember those 2 kids from the Hoop Dreams movie? They lived in Chicago and still do. It's interesting to see what they are up to these days. Let's just say they aren't playing professional basketball.
- Barack discusses the college football playoff program he is proposing on 60 minutes last night.
- The Bulls win their last game before the circus trip on Saturday night. And Sam Smith might like Derrick Rose more than I do, if that's possible.
