- Cubs won't offer salary arbitration to Kerry Wood or Bob Howry. That means neither will return and Cubs fans will miss them. Well, one of them.
- Dusty Dvoracek is out for the season with a ruptured right biceps. Uh, ouch.
- Weis tells a recruit that he is returning as Notre Dame's coach. Then points out the window, asks "what's that" and steals kid's brownie.
- Northwestern advances to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Soccer Tournament. Little cold for soccer, no?
- White Sox and Reds talking trade involving Jermaine Dye. "Hey what about that Griffey guy?"
- 'Rak-key? Hawks are trying to get Obama to attend the Winter Classic between the Hawks and Wings. I'll take his spot if he turns it down!

Today's Links--Turkey Time Edition
- The Bulls have a go-to guy. No, it's not Larry Hughes.
- Barack Obama is seating the press corps in categories of Sox fans and Cubs fans. Oops, a Sox fan was placed in the Cub fan section.
- Some notes on the Bears.
- HHR is starting a site called Fan Foodie. It goes to each sports stadium and gives a quick guide to the best food in and around the arena.
- Lou Holtz thinks Charlie Weis should have no problem winning titles. I don't know if Holtz is crazier or Weis is fatter.
- Top Ten Chicago disappointments. I agree with all the people on it, though I think I would put them in a different order.

Today's Links
- Piniella wins the NL Manager of the Year award. Here's his reaction.
- ESPN could not reach...ESPN?...for comment on a story regarding the new BCS deal. Ha.
- Orton is back in Bears practice. His status for this weekend is uncertain, but the Neckbeard is 100% healthy.
- Notre Dame AD says that Charlie Weis' job is safe. Um, yeah, he's white.
- Will Dempster be a casualty of a Peavy trade to the Cubs? Not necessarily.
- John Hollinger's ratings are out and as usual he loves the Bulls. Notice how they are actually 10th in the East, but are ranked 11th overall by JH.
- Tons of injuries in this week's Michigan-Northwestern game. Sports Information interns are drawing up an index for the injury reports.

Today's Links--No More Baseball

Cubs dealing with the loss. Check out the last line of the article, Soriano finally catches the true spirit of the Cubs.
Notre Dame? In a BCS bowl game? Yeah, because their last couple have gone so well.
The Illini clean up in Big Ten honors this week.
Vinny Del Negro succeeds with "hyper preparedness." Sounds like a touching story.
